L’Oreal Luxury Great Deals 31 Oct 09 review

The queue wasn’t long until outside Lot 10 and it wasn’t even 1/3 long of the queueing hall for L’Oreal Malaysia Luxury Great Deals 31 Oct 09. As there were 2 lanes, people who come in group could make a circle and chit chat while a few took advantages of the lax security to jump queue. This time, there’s a sign stating “NO PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED INSIDE”. Haa..

The staff would count 10 people for each lane but you see, if 1 lane have more people, then you’d have to wait longer. It’s not 100% FIFO so the management should think about having only 1 lane to be fair.

The 1st item I grabbed was Ralph Lauren Style, which I almost missed out because it was in between Romance & Notorious and Style box looks like Romance. There were only about 4 boxes left!

Then I realised the box looked very familiar.. and I called home to be sure I did not buy the same one I already had. Yeap, I already had Style. I wondered why I had always thought I was wearing Romance when I was wearing Style?! Romance is quite $ this time, compared to previous warehouse sales but then, Romance is it’s best selling fragrance & advertisement. The launching advertisement had real life couple (then) thin model ? & ? I think that was the most romantic advertisement for this fragrance, compared to Filippa & ? and then Valentina & ? But Filippa & ? were the most good looking couple for Romance and as for Valentina, it looked like she was romancing the camera/photographer than her lover. Too self-adsorbing.

I like Notorious’ smell – it’s fresh and not overpowering. I think it’s more to breaking boundaries and being your own person but the advertisement of sensual Laetitia in polo t-shirt was classy, not Notorious.

Also bought another Laetitia (with Matthew Avedon, nephew of famed photographer Richard Avedon) advertisement’s product, Cacharel Promesse. Sweet. According to the staff, the best selling current is Amor & Promese. Noa was finished by 11am.

Actually the 1st time I got was Giorgio Armani’s White Modeling Compact Foundation SPF15/PA++ refill 9g in the lightest shade.

Giorgio Armani foundation (1)

The staff informed it was RM70. She asked if I wanted the cover (forgot the price) and sponge (RM10). I told her I only wanted the sponge. No point buying the cover if I am just testing the product and may not buy another time.

You know sometimes when you have tried so many fragrances you don’t know which smell is which? That happened to me, everytime in warehouse sales to the point my whole 2 hands were filled with fragrances – and I mean from knuckles to arms! I wished I had more skin area to spray on and smell it!

While queueing, I calculated my purchases:
Giorgio Armani RM70 made in Dec 2006
Cacharel RM60 made in Feb 2007
Ralph Lauren RM80 Jun 2008 yay
Total = RM210

Queue was ok as there wasn’t really a long queue and there were more than 5 cashiers. But at the cashier, my bill was RM220! I checked the receipt and indeed it was RM220.

At home, I realized why the cashier had charged me extra RM10. In Giorgio Armani, you’ll get a blue slip bill – mine was RM70 + RM10. I forgot RM10 for the sponge!

Then just now, I looked at the refill black paper box. RM60 at the back!!! Ai… my instinct was correct. Should’ve trusted my instinct and reacted! The staff had given the wrong price.. and my mistake for not double checking with the box.

Actually, the refill also had a sponge inside… haha. Mmm.. I must use this first instead of the new L’Oreal Mineral foundation after I finish my current Chanel.

Now I have Miracle Forever from the old warehouse and 2 more fragrances. I’m thinking of letting go of the Miracle Forever… anyone want?
