In Garnier.ca:

If your skin is oily and prone to acne and you want to dry the blemishes and tighten the pores, then the answer is yes. With its effectiveness proven under dermatological control, its non-greasy formula not only releases highly concentrated anti-bacterial agents, but also zinc to regulate the production of oil and treat skin irritations. Garnier Pure Astringent Toner cleanses and tightens the pores, dries imperfections and evens out your complexion.

Nature’s best
Garnier Pure Astringent Toner contains zinc for its controlling properties, an anti-bacterial agent for its cleansing power, and 100% natural cucumber extract for its energizing and skin-hydrating qualities. This combination of active ingredients is the complete solution to all oily skin problems.

It is also not recommended for people with dry and sensitive skin.

Although it’s considered cheap, I find this toner working well for me. In my books, it’s even more worthy because it’s cheap & effective.

I find my skin is clearer when I use this than not. For a week, I tested without using this toner (or any toner) and found that there were more congestion :(

Right after using the toner, the skin will look pinkish. Not sure if it’s the alcohol reaction? My skin does get pink if come in contact with fragrance but it doesn’t itch or feel painful. In fact, there’s just a litttle bit of tightening feel if I don’t apply moisturizer afterwards.

+ Works to remove stubborn dirt on skin if cleanser & cleansing oil do not work, smells great, tighten skin pores (a bit, then) and feels clean.

- Makes skin oily after 1/2hr onwards. If I use it at night before I sleep, my face will be more oily the next day.

So I don’t use this everyday.. only when I wear pressed powder foundation or sunscreen. I think maybe it’s because I don’t have very oily skin anymore that I get more oily because the toner is drying on my skin?
