L’Oreal CPD warehouse sale 2007 (Updated)

I woke up earlier than before some of my friends started work. Which surprises them because I wasn’t not attached to any company then.

PotatoGal saw me online and buzzed me, “Woi, I’m so sleepy..”

“Pig. No handsome to wake you up?”

“Aiyo… my company’s [on about the guys in her company].”

She continued, “You wake up so early only because of the warehouse sale only mah!”

Yep. L’Oreal Consumer Products Division warehouse stock clearance 2007

And very excited about it too :D

The things I wanted to get hair mask, eyeshadow, lipstick (maybe), spot corrector, blusher.. I also offered to check makeup remover for PotatoGal.

I told Sam about this and she beria-ria, “I’m going to be there before it open!”

Yeah. Sam’s the type to talk just to talk. She’ll make a great VJ or DJ.
Still, she reached there earlier than me and complained, “I don’t know what I buyyyy.. I spend over 100! I didn’t buy a lot ahh just a few mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadows, blushers.. lipgloss I don’t want to buy lipstick le, still got a lot. Wanted to get foundation or powder but I don’t use also but I saw so many people buy and the sales said very good so I bought some aiyea, so sad no more loose powder should be good, loose powder but no more already huh I also got the cellulite-”

“You bought the slimming green thing?!”

She’s shorter and slimmer than me with firm butt.

“I got cellulite ahhhhhhhh!” She insisted.

“Got hair mask not?! You get for me!” I was (mainly) too excited and afraid I’d missed out some products. Fears unfounded because only loose powder was sold out before I reached and I still have L’Oreal Loose Powder in Translucent which make me look like a geisha. I have to use bronzer or foundation else I’d scare people away.

When I reached there, I got my # tag for my pouch (refer the flyer: pouch or bag is not allowed inside). The staffs this time were very helpful and friendly. Several of them smiled genuinely – unlike some staffs at the previous warehouse sales. The place was quite spacious with some sections empty – good for customers to check taken items. I think after Compaq moved to HP Towers, this building had been empty except for warehouse sales. I thought there was another company moved in but..

I fell in love with L’Oreal Colour Riche (I think) – the colour, lipstick texture and shine (not the glaring and blinding like Maybelline’s) and the stylish-roundish modern silver packaging. Grabbed 2 – 1 for myself and the other for BraveSafe’s birthday. It’s a few months to go but – ok, I was utilizing $ and opportunity – she doesn’t wear any makeup except foundation but the blusher available wouldn’t suit her complexion colouring.

Love Holographic Eyeshadow in Sand Castle but there was only 1 displayed at the testers area but it was sealed. Besides, it was the only 1 I saw :( I was just looking, wouldn’t buy if there were stock anyway. I already have 2 shades of beidge at home! It was just that this Sand Castle looked perfect. Aw..

I hesitated to buy the L’Oreal concealer, which I bought during the previous warehouse sale. RM10 only. *sucked in breathe* RM10 is damn cheap for a concealer, albeit not the perfect coverage concealer and it finished up really fast. Mmm.. maybe that was because I had to cover a lot *sob* But I put it back on the table. I told myself sternly, “I have flawless skin. No need concealer.”

This time, there were more skin care products – mostly whitening and Pure Zone. I grabbed the Whitening Spot Corrector tube and heard an aunty told the staff, “Your Whitening Spot is not really effective for me.”

The staff answered hesitantly, “Err.. actually it depends.. on your skin type.”

“I wasn’t using it everyday but-”

“Actually it usually takes 2-3 months.”

I put it back on the table. Not because I heard what that aunt said. I didn’t have enough cash to pay!

There was also L’Oreal Professional hair care – lowered price and some sort of promotion.

Then I saw Maybelline’s lipstick cost half of the 1 I took! L’Oreal lipstick are basically longer lasting but Maybelline was half the $!

As I was waiting for my turn to try the testers, I checked out what colours were available and what others were trying. Some of the people (customers) are helpful and offered after trying the testers, “You want to try?”

:) An aunt asked me, “What colour is that?” She nodded at my palm. I had about 6 stripes and holding the 7th.

I told her the #. She peered at her plastic bag. “Got ar? Can help me check? I can’t see properly.”

I looked at the plastic bag. It had about 10 lipsticks.

“Wah, you are buying so many! Don’t… have.”

“What colour is that?” She pointed on the 7th lipstick.

I pointed to the smear on my palm. Then I grabbed another colour I was waiting to test.

“Then what other colours?” She pointed on my palm.

“Ohh, same one.” Some stripes were just 2 swipes to see how light it would appear.

I got 2 lipstick from Maybelline and returned L’Oreal. The 2 colours appeared similar on my palm but I loved both colours!

The aunt asked me about the numbers and names again, she got both too.

Ooooo… give me RM100 and I would get lots of lipstick, the peeling kit, L’Oreal Professional haircare and Maybelline’s bright eyeshadows.

Mascara? I’d rather try out mascaras that actually make eyelashes grow longer and thicker than just superficial appearance. Heard Maybelline’s mascara is catching up with L’Oreal on quality though. Just don’t believe the extend of Fasha Sanda, Adriana Lima ads.

Car also asked me to get brushes but there was none. L’Oreal and Maybelline sell brushes in Malaysia?

Maybelline

  • blusher from RM10
  • eyeshadow from RM5 (if I remember correctly)
  • eyeliner from RM6
  • lipstick & lipgloss from RM5 *whoo hooo!*

L’Oreal

  • blusher RM15 so limited colours – peach and pink (forgot the exact name)
  • mascara from RM15
  • powder/foundation from RM20
  • eyeshadow from RM10
  • lipstick & lipgloss from RM10
  • hair mask from RM12

Basically, L’Oreal’s products prices were almost double Maybelline’s but they are longer lasting and more sophisticated in packaging since Maybelline’s target are teenagers to early 30’s while L’Oreal has a wider range of late teens to above 50’s with anti-ageing products *keke*.
